You must have a valid passport to enter Myanmar. You also need to assure that your passport is valid for a minimum period of six months from the date of entry to the country.
You are kindly advised to reconfirm about your flight status by calling respective airlines prior to departure date. For both international tickets and domestic tickets, you are encouraged to reconfirm within 72 hours and 48 hours before departure time respectively. Otherwise, your booking might be cancelled and you have to pay No-Show fees.
Recommended Check-in Time
For international trips, recommended check-in time is two hours (120 minutes) prior to departure time.For domestic trips, recommended check-in time is one and half hour (90 minutes) prior to departure time.

Myanmar currency is Myanmar Kyat (MMK) and available banknotes are 10,000 Kyats, 5,000 Kyats, 1,000 Kyats , 500 Kyats, 200 Kyats, 100 Kyats, 20 Kyats, 10 Kyats, 5 Kyats and 1 Kyat.
You can conveniently exchange your money (e.g., USD,EUR,SGD, and Thai Bath) through authorized currency exchange counters from private banks around the country. Not only can you exchange money at several currency exchanges of private banks, but also you can exchange at the hotel reception desks. Generally, you can enjoy the best exchange rate in Yangon rather than other cities. USD 100 notes can get better rate than smaller ones. If you r motes are in pristine condition, you can obtain better rate. Otherwise, you may get lower rate.
Only a few hotels (e.g., 4* and 5* hotels) can accept credit cards including Master card and Visa card and they will charge 4% to 5% of your payment as credit card transaction fees.This service is provided for the only guests who stay in these hotels. Some gem shops and restaurants also accept credit cards for your payment with extra charges for credit card transaction service.
If you visit pagodas, you are kindly suggested not to wear short pants, miniskirt and vests to show your respect for local culture and religion. However, you can wear them in other places. As Myanmar climate is hot, light clothes, cotton dresses and other suitable fabrics are recommended for your convenience. In winter, warm clothes are needed in some places like Kalaw, Taunggyi and Inle in Shan state and Kyeikhtiyo (Golden Rock) in Mon State.
In Myanmar, there are three seasons; namely , Summer Season, Rainy Season and Winter Season. Summer Season starts from March to May and the Rainy Season starts form June to September. The last season falls between October and February. Although most visitors come to Myanmar in the Winter Season, it is also nice to travel Myanmar around the whole year.
You can access to internet in most places of Yangon and some of other cities. Not only can you enjoy Wi-Fi connection with free of charge in some places including Shwe Dagon Pagoda but also you can have Wi-Fi connection as complementary service at some hotels. Moreover, you can also use internet cheaply at internet cafes which are widespread in many cities. Nowadays, you can also surf internet from mobile phones.
You can take the benefits of mobile phone rental service available at Yangon International Airport. This service rents mobile phone handsets and SIM cards to foreign visitors. You cannot use your mobile phone since there is no International GSM Roaming System in the country.
