Sittwe – Mrauk U – Vesali – Danayawaddy - Yangon

In this trip, you will discover the cultural and heritage sites of Rakhine (Arakan) State and meet with the chin tattoo faced women in village, situated on the bank of Laymro River.

Itinerary Details

DAY 1. YANGON – SITTWE ( – / L / D )

Pick up by Asia EZ guide and car at hotel and you will transfer to the airport for domestic flight to Sittwe, the capital of Rakhine State. It also known as a Port city which located on the Kaladan River, it goes to the Bay of Bengal.

Upon arrival, you will have tour along the Strand road where sites of dock yard existed. Then, proceed visiting to the Cultural Museum (closed on Mondays and Public holidays) in Sittwe, displays the traditional costumes, musical instruments and arts of Rakhine.

From there, continue to see the Maha Myat Mu Ni Pagoda, situated in center of the town. Its Buddha face was shrined with gold and the rest are filled with bronze.

Your day will be completed by watching sunset from the View Point, a lovely recreational spot in the city. Transfer to the hotel.

Lunch will be served at local restaurant.
Dinner and overnight stay in Sittwe.


After breakfast, stroll through the morning fish selling local market in Sittwe before drive (3 ½ hrs) to Mrauk U, a major archaeological site in Myanmar.

Start visiting to the Archaeological Museum (closed on Mondays and Public holidays) which is the collection of ancient artifacts. Visit to the Shitthaung Pagoda, it noted for (80,000) Buddha images with the most spectacular massive temple, and proceed to visit the Andaw Thein Temple enshrined with Buddha tooth-relic. Then, heading to the Koethaung Pagoda with its (90,000) Buddha images.

From there, continue to see the Htauk Kan Thein Temple, which is another important highlight in Mrauk U. Enjoy viewing sunset from the good view of Shwe Taung Pagoda.

Lunch will be served at local restaurant.

Dinner and overnight stay in Mrauk U.


After breakfast, drive 20 mins to the Vesali by car, which was founded by King Mahathain Chandra during Vesali Dynastry in 8th century. Start visiting to the Wethali Great Image from 327 AD, a huge sitting Buddha image which made by one piece of sand stone.

Continue the bumpy road to Danyawaddy Dynasty, the earliest ancient city of Rakhine State. Where there is Maha Muni Shrine, one of the five embodiments of the Buddha images. Drive back (1 ½ hrs) to Mrauk U.

Upon arrival, transfer back to hotel and leisure in noon time.

After lunch, drive 20 mins to Thet or Shakam Village, return to hotel.

Dinner and overnight stay in Mrauk U.


After breakfast, you will leave (3 ½ hrs) to Sittwe and then directly transfer to the airport for domestic flight to Yangon.

Lunch will be served at local restaurant.
