Overview:

In this trip, you will get the experience of train journey to Naung Pain, discover the treasure in charming town Hsipaw and nearby regions.

Itinerary Details

DAY 1. PYIN OO LWIN – HSIPAW ( – / L / D )

Pick up by Asia EZ car and guide at hotel and transfer to the railway station for taking 4 hours’ train to Naung Pain. You will pass through GokeHteik Viaduct Bridge which is hundred years old built by Pennsylvania steel company. Along the way, you will enjoy the beautiful landscape and also breathing view from your window crossing the bridge.

When you arrive at Naung Pain train station, your car is waiting you to bring the historic town of Hsipaw. Upon arrival, visit to the Bawgyo Pagoda in 13th century Shan style ancient Pagoda which is built by King Alaung Sithu and it is the most impressive pagoda in the Northern Shan State.

Transfer to hotel and check in. The rest of the day is free at leisure.

Lunch will be served at local restaurant.
Dinner and overnight stay in Hsipaw.


DAY 2. HSIPAW SIGHTSEEING (B /L / D)

After breakfast, you will drive to visit the morning market which sold by the local ethnic groups. Then take a half day boat trip on the Dothawaddy River and passing through the local villages where you can observe their daily activities. You will also see the pineapple, lemon, orange, teak plantation and 150 years old Shan Style Monastery.

Return to Hsipaw in the noon and continue touring to the famous Shan Palace which is a former residence of Shan Prince, Sao Kya Seng and his wife Austrian wife Inge Sargent, who wrote the book “Twilight over Burma”.

Your day will be extended visit to Thein Daung Pagoda also known as Nine Buddha Hill for viewing sunset on the river and town. Transfer back to hotel.

Lunch will be served at local restaurant.
Dinner and overnight stay in Hsipaw.


DAY 3. HSIPAW – PYIN OO LWIN (B /- /-)

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Nyaung Shwe jetty. Then you will take a Tuk Tuk to the trekking starting point near KANNE reservoir. Then walk up through several plantations such as grape, turmeric, corn, cheroot leave and avocado to LWEKHAW. On the way, take a rest at the top of the mountain to enjoy the panoramic view overlooking Inle Lake and its environment. A traditional style lunch will be served at LWEKHAW community house by the villagers.

After lunch, go sightseeing around LWEKHAW (CBT project village) and walk up LWEKHAW Mountain, culminating at an altitude of 1520 m above sea level. The mountain is being conserved as a community forest and you can discover various kinds of birds. The sunset view can be enjoyed when you reach the top of the mountain.

After dinner, the villagers will entertain you by playing their traditional musical instruments and showing you their ways of dancing.

Distance = 10 km, Walking Hour = 4hrs (approximate)

Trek condition = 60% up & 40% flat
